【About Tokoname Kyusu (Teapots)】
Tokoname-yaki is one of Japan’s most renowned pottery traditions, with over 900 years of history and craftsmanship.
Tokoname teapots are made from iron-rich clay, which interacts with the tannins in tea to reduce bitterness and enhance the flavor, resulting in a smoother and more enjoyable brew.
Each kyusu is fitted with a precisely handcrafted lid, ensuring a seamless and comfortable pour without leaks. Over time, these teapots develop a beautiful sheen and a deeper character, allowing users to enjoy their evolving appearance with continued use.
【Care Instructions】
・For daily cleaning, please wash with water only, without using detergent.
・Make sure the tea strainer is thoroughly dried to prevent water from collecting inside.
・If tea stains are difficult to remove, soak the teapot overnight in a solution of kitchen bleach diluted to about 1%. After soaking, rinse thoroughly with boiling water.
